Short violin bow with clip-in frog
This bow is inspired by an original Italian bow from the end of the 16th century.
It is 64 cm long, made from snakewood or ironwood.
Ideal for late renaissance and early 17th century music like Castello, Cima etc.

This bow is 66cm long, made from snakewood, with clip-in frog.
I based its design on paintings where a short, thin bow with a low head is clearly seen:

This Bow is made after an original bow from around 1680.
It is 58 cm long and it's weight is 40 gr.

Viola D'amore or Violin bow after Caspar Stadler 1714
This Bow is made after an original bow by Caspar Stadler in the "Germanishes National Museum" in Nurnberg.
It is 66 cm long and it's weight makes it an excelent violin bow as well.
The upper bow is made from figured snakewood, and the second from plain snakewood (Amourette).

Violin Bow in late 17th century style
This bow is 66cm long, and I made this model using different woods.
The upper bow is made from snakewood, the second one is made from ironwood with a boxwood clip-in frog.
Recent research shows that bows in this style - short and light - were in use till the middle of the 18th
century.

It is one of the best preserved bows from around 1700
